Raja Yoga
Raja Yoga, the royal path of mind control, is the most comprehensive and scientific approach to God-Realization. The precepts and doctrines of this ancient science were first compiled and explained by Patanjali Maharishi, the greatest psychologist of all time. Never has man’s mind been so completely analyzed. Never has a process for eliminating human woes and frailties been so succinctly presented. The methods of Raja Yoga are profoundly timeless. Though of ancient origin, they are still the most useful technique available to modern man beset by the tremendous stresses and strains of competitive society.
Regular meditation alone can give you true happiness. – Sri Swami Sivananda
Bhagavad Gita Quote
Chapter VIII: The Yoga of the Indestructible Brahman
ARJUNA UVAACHA:
VIII.1. KIM TADBRAHMA KIM ADHYAATMAM KIM KARMA PURUSHOTTAMA;
ADHIBHOOTAM CHA KIM PROKTAM ADHIDAIVAM KIMUCHYATE.
Arjuna said(to Krishna):
What is that Brahman? What is Adhyatma? What is action, O best among men? What is declared to be Adhibhuta? And what is Adhidaiva said to be?
VIII.2. ADHIYAJNAH KATHAM KO’TRA DEHE’SMIN MADHUSOODANA;
PRAYAANAKAALE CHA KATHAM JNEYO’SI NIYATAATMABHIH.
Who and how is Adhiyajna here in this body, O destroyer of Madhu (Krishna)? And how, at the time of death, art Thou to be known by the self-controlled one?
COMMENTARY: In the last two verses of the seventh discourse, Lord Krishna uses certain philosophical terms. Arjuna does not understand their meaning. So he proceeds to question the Lord.
Atman sees, but is not seen. Hears, but is not heard. Thinks, but is not thought of. Know Atman and be free. – Sri Swami Sivananda

Glossary
ADHIDAIVA: Pertaining to the divine God who controls all beings and gives them what is their due; fate; destiny; controlling power.
Adhidaiva-vidya: Science of the heavens.
SATCHIDANANDA: Existence, knowledge, and bliss absolute.
Sat means Existence or Truth. Chid is the expression, knowledge, of it. Ananda is the Bliss you get out of it. So Truth, Knowledge, Bliss is what we mean by the word Satchidananda. In a way, the meaning could be compared to the Holy Trinity.
You are in essence the spiritual Being. You are made up of the same substance of Satchidananda of which Brahman is made. – Sri Swami Sivananda
