Gurugram September 2015 | Preface

Blessed Self,
Om Namah Sivaya

Greetings to all from the Sivananda Headquarters. With the grace of Swamiji, the Sivananda Organization continues to grow, finding a way to give inspiration toward propagating Yoga, Meditation and spiritual growth.

We had an exceptionally busy Summer season for 2015 in the Northern Hemisphere. At the Yoga Camp in Val Morin, Canada all rooms were full throughout the season. The Ranch and Yoga Farm Ashrams also reported a high success with their energetic programs and courses this Summer. Yoga Centres mentioned how extremely busy they were while offering Swamiji’s teachings, noticing a keen interest in mediation courses and increase of attendance in Satsangs. Europe’s Ashrams and Centres continued with a vibrant series of courses throughout the Summer, often receiving advanced registrations well before the course dates.

Meanwhile, South America focused on expanding their TTC programs and touring the continent with information on the upcoming courses.

India increased its spiritual presence in its Centres, with priests regularly providing Homas and Pujas, noticeably increasing the prana of the Centres and supporting the students’ spiritual inquiry.

On the upcoming birthday anniversary of Master Swami Sivananda, Sept 8th, 2015, there will be a new Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre opening in Noida, New Delhi, India with lots of rituals & Pujas. On this day there will be Ganapati Homa, the lighting of the oil lamp, special addresses, a demo class, chanting and Aarti, Prasad and a luncheon.

We thank you for your continued support toward the expansion the Sivananda Organization.

May Master and Swamiji bless us always in our Sadhana and service.

Bolo Sadguru Sri Swami Sivananda Maharaj ki – Jai !

Maintain always serenity under all conditions and circumstances. – Sri Swami Sivananda

Raja Yoga

From Discourse III: “Vibhuti Pada- On Divine Powers”

III.56. SATTVA-PURUSAYOH SUDDHI-SAMYE KAIVALYAM

‘Kaivalya(liberation) is attained when there is equality between “sattwa” (purity) and “Purusha”(the Soul)’.

Commentary:
Liberation takes place when the mind has the same purity as “Purusha” itself. The purified mind recognizes its nature as “Purusha”. The essence of this nature is, and always has been, bliss, freedom, peace, Self- sufficiency and perfection.

Remember and practice the six S’s—Shanti (Peace), Santosha (Contentment), Satsanga (Association with Sages), Satya (Truthfullness), Serenity, and Seclusion. – Sri Swami Sivananda

Bhagavad Gita Quote

Chapter IV: The Yoga of the Division of Wisdom

IV.42. TASMAAD AJNAANASAMBHOOTAM HRITSTHAM JNAANAASINAATMANAH;
CCHITTWAINAM SAMSHAYAM YOGAM AATISHTHOTTISHTHA BHAARATA.

(Krishna speaking to Arjuna)
‘Therefore, with the sword of knowledge (of the Self) cut asunder the doubt of the self born of ignorance, residing in thy heart, and take refuge in Yoga; arise, O Arjuna!’

HARI OM TAT SAT
ITI SRIMAD BHAGAVADGEETAASOOPANISHATSU
BRAHMAVIDYAAYAAM YOGASHAASTRE SRI KRISHNAARJUNASAMVAADE
JNAANAVIBHAAGAYOGO NAAMA CHATURTHO’DHYAAYAH

Thus in the Upanishads of the glorious Bhagavad Gita, the science of the Eternal, the scripture of Yoga, the dialogue between Sri Krishna and Arjuna, ends the fourth discourse entitled: “The Yoga of Wisdom”.

When anyone injures you, train yourself to cease to resent it. Try. Try. Try. – Sri Swami Sivananda
