Om Namah Sivaya to all Blessed Selves from the Chennai Centre. During the beginning of August we started new beginners course on 3rd of August with a good number of students. We were experiencing frequent rains this time of the year, and power cuts, but staff of the Centre successfully managed all these issues. Sadly, our long time cook Magi left the Centre because of personal reasons. In the meantime we have a chance to enjoy nice homemade food, prepared by Sandhya. The rest of the activities in the Centre were carried on as usual. Staff members performed their karma yoga activities efficiently and productively. With the blessings of God and Masters, everything was fine here. Teachers and staff are well and sending Pranams to the Sivananda family.

By the grace of the Gurus, all else continued well The students in the Yoga classes showed good progress well, all the while expressing their appreciation. The Thursday Yoga 1 Course finished. Saturday’s Yoga 1 finished as well. Students were looking forward to Yoga 2. Attendance at Satsang grew steady again after several quieter weeks. More students were coming to the Advanced Class on Sundays. The garden enjoyed the cooler, wetter weather, hence we were harvesting more substantial amounts of food, including tomatoes, turnips, beets, and cucumbers. Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, Vilnuis, Lithuania

Om Namah Sivaya. For the last week of July Vilnius Yoga Centre was continuing to work on the reduced schedule. Close teachers and karma yogis were taking care of the Centre, because TTC Lithuania held on Swami Durgananda‘s inspiring initiative was still going on at a retreat place by the small lake, just 30 minutes from Vilnius. The course saw fifty-six participants mostly from Lithuania, as well as Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia. The course was taught in English, Lithuanian and Russian languages with the translations. Satsangs, main lecture, Bhagavad Gita and asana classes filled up everyone`s daily schedule. Students were open, sincere and dynamic in learning new things. Swami Narayanananda started to teach the main lectures and Satsangs, Swami Vairagyananda focused on Bhagavad Gita, morning class for the Russian speaking and Ishwara Chaitanya, Durga Devi shared classes for Lithuanian group, gave series of Satsangs and guest lectures, Rajeshwari taught afternoon class and helped with translations into the Russian. We were happy to welcome Swami Sivadasananda, who gave a series of Satsangs, classes and led a theatre play with Kirtans. After completing the anatomy lectures, Ishwara Chaitanya treated the group to a cooking course, which was simply set up on the floor of the main hall. One evening students could enjoy as well a beautiful sitar concert. Thirty-two students took mantra initiation and received spiritual names. Swami Keshavananda has arrived in the middle of the course to inspire us until the end of the course, which was on August 2. Priest Yagneshwara stayed with us for four days and performed daily morning Pujas. Siva Murti and Yantra Puja for the Divine Mother were accepted very well with Abhishekam, mantras and offerings. Professor Beinorius gave very inspiring lecture on Upanishads and Bharata Natyam dancer Irina gave two workshops and beautiful performance on the official closing of the course. The final exam results were a good surprise. Even twenty students passed exam excellent and others passed very well. Students, Staff and Karma yogis are thankful for this profound experience and possibility to serve, to teach and to connect with each other in Sivananda Family. For the three weeks the weather was extremely hot for the Lithuanian climate – more than 30 degrees C in the shadow. Despite the hot holiday season end weather students still were attending not only the classes, but Satsangs as well. The big nice support from the new teachers, graduates from the TTC Lithuania started to come: Kalyani, Dattatreya, Priya, Nirmala, Ausra started to assist in the open classes and some of them already taught alone. Getting experience they could become very good yoga teachers and this would allow Vilnius Centre to expand and to teach new interesting courses, little by little to introduce more yoga philosophy to the students. On the 13th of August early morning Ishwara Chaitanya left to Orleans to support and teach Sadhana Intensive course. On the last Saturday we had a cooking class with 14 students: ‘‘Tasty and easy vegetarian meals for the beginners‘‘. Our teacher Bharata was happy to share the knowledge and his special recipe of Pulao. The food was sattvic and tasty. Students were very inspired to get the needed spices and to start cooking at home. OM.
